The organization of the superior courts and the governmental authority in Campeche, 1858-1861

Abstract

With the analysis of the laws and the participation of the government in the organization of the courts, this work explains the close relationship between the government authorities and the judicial authorities, in an entity that was beginning to govern itself and detach itself from the Yucatecan administration; It also discusses the joint work of officials to overcome the difficulties generated by the formation of the units in charge of dispensing justice. This article intertwines the study of legislation with government intervention and municipal changes to identify the characteristics of the bodies in charge of judicial administration.
